Journalist Don Winkler published a report on Vino Nobile di Montepulciano this month that gives very flattering ratings to La Pieve Valardegna 21 (95), Il Golo 22 (91) and Spinosa 22 (92). Here is the full report
Il Molinaccio di Montepulciano 2021 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Pieve Valardegna 95
Stylistically modern like Alessandro's other Vino Nobile wines, this single vineyard wine sourced from
the Pieve Valardegna shows remarkable purity and refinement. Light ruby red in color, it offers
strawberry, red cherry, and floral and herbal spice on the nose. The medium weight palate is suave and
silky in texture, revealing impressive depth and finishing long with fine-grained tannins. 100%
Sangiovese matured 24 months in French Allier oak barrels.
The Molinaccio di Montepulciano 2022 The Golo Rosso di Montepulciano 91
This youthful, bright and supremely flavorful red wine is an
exceptional value. If you see it, buy it as you'll not be disappointed. It reveals red berries with floral and
spice notes and is delightful, easy drinking. A blend of 97% Sangiovese and 3% Alicante from estate vineyards fermented with native yeast and aged in stainless steel. 14% alc.
The Molinaccio of Montepulciano 2022 La Spinosa Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 92
Light red. La Spinosa is one of the freshest and brightest Vino Nobiles I tasted at this year's Anteprima. It starts with vibrant and intricate
scents of framboise and cherry and is clean and focused on entry with captivatingly sweet red fruit lifted
by lively acidity. A Pinot Noir like wine in structure and finesse with fine grained tannins. All Sangiovese
fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and aged 12 months in 25 hl French Allier oak barrels.
14.1% alc.
